The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is computer based English language test designed to assess the readiness of non-native English speakers to participate in a university-level English language instruction program.
With PTE Academic, students receive an overall English score, as well as scores for individual English sub-skills and enabling skills.

Each institution that uses PTE scores sets its own minimum level of acceptable performance. These minimum scores vary from one institution to another, depending on factors such as the applicant’s field of study, the level of study (undergraduate or graduate), whether the applicant will be a teaching assistant, and whether the institution offers English as a Second Language support for its students.
The test is internationally recognized and is accepted for admissions for thousands of programs. PTE Academic acceptance includes top UK universities, top US universities and government organizations.
PTE Academic is available in 43 territories including China, India, the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia, the UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Nigeria and Canada.
Test takers in Nigeria will need a valid international passport as an identifying document on the day of the exam.
Advised Preparatory Time
Four weeks of good preparation is recommended for the PTE examination in order to achieve very good scores.
